Thorn attends LUCI’s City Under Microscope event in Marseille
From the 18th-21st September, Thorn attended LUCI's (Lighting Urban Community International's) City under Microscope event in Marseille. The second largest city in France and the European Capital of Culture 2013, Marseille is the latest city to sign the LUCI Charter on Urban Lighting.
The Charter on Urban Lighting brings cities across the world together around common principles in sustainable urban lighting, including energy and environmental performance. Through field visits and technical conferences, the City Under Microscope event gave Marseille the opportunity to present its urban development plan to more than 150 delegates from 25 cities.
The next LUCI event is the Annual General Meeting, which takes place in Guangzhou, China, in November 2013. Thorn will be introducing the Thorn Energy Partnership (TEP) and its 15 ways to make energy efficient lighting easy to the LUCI community.
Established in 2002, LUCI brings together around 63 cities covering four continents engaged in using light as a tool for sustainable urban development. By organising international events and conferences, and taking part in various lighting projects and research, LUCI promotes the exchange of knowledge and good practice in sustainable urban lighting.
